Five World Golf Hall of Fame Members commit to 2026 Kaulig Companies Championship at Firestone Country Club

AKRON, Ohio - Tournament officials today announced that five members of the World Golf Hall of Fame have committed to compete in the 2026 Kaulig Companies Championship, set for July 9-12 at Firestone Country Club’s South Course. The group is headlined by 2024 champion Ernie Els, three-time champion Bernhard Langer, 2019 winner Retief Goosen, three-time major champion Vijay Singh and seven-time PGA TOUR Champions winner Colin Montgomerie.

Ernie Els returns to Firestone where he secured his first senior major victory at the 2024 Kaulig Companies Championship. The four-time PGA TOUR major champion (1994 and 1997 U.S. Open, 2002 and 2012 Open Championship) currently sits third in the 2026 Charles Schwab Cup standings with six top-10 finishes in nine starts this season, including a runner-up at the Insperity Invitational.

Germany’s Bernhard Langer will make his 18th appearance as the most decorated champion in the history of the event, holding the all-time record with three consecutive titles (2014-2016) when the tournament was previously known as the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship. The two-time Masters champion (1985, 1993) owns 47 PGA TOUR Champions victories, the most all-time, along with 2 senior major championships, making him the only player to have won all five of the senior major titles. In 2026, Langer has recorded four top-10 finishes.

Two-time U.S. Open champion Retief Goosen (2001, 2004) won the first Kaulig Companies Championship held at Firestone in 2019, becoming the first player to claim the title when the event moved to Akron. The South African is one of the most consistent performers on tour in 2026, ranking fourth in the Charles Schwab Cup standings with a victory at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic and top 3 finishes at the Principal Charity Classic and Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai. Goosen was also recently named International Team captain for the 2026 Skechers World Champions Cup.

"This year's tournament is a celebration of Firestone, of the Kaulig Companies Championship, and of everything this event has meant to the Akron community. Announcing five World Golf Hall of Fame members as our first wave of commitments sets exactly the right tone,” said Tournament Director Dave Utlak. “These players are part of this event's story, and this community will get the chance to send this chapter off with the best Kaulig Companies Championship we've ever had. We can't wait to deliver that for our fans in July."

Vijay Singh brings a rich history at Firestone Country Club, having won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on the South Course in 2008. The three-time major champion (1998 and 2004 PGA Championship, 2000 Masters Tournament) also claimed the Kaulig Companies Championship title in 2018, adding his name to the tournament's list of champions. Singh has 34 PGA TOUR victories, ranking him 14th on the all-time wins list.

Scotland's Colin Montgomerie makes his 14th career appearance in the event, arriving in strong form following a 2026 season-best third-place finish at the Regions Tradition earlier this year. The seven-time PGA TOUR Champions and eight-time European Tour Order of Merit winner will make his 14th event appearance as he seeks his fourth senior major title.

The 2026 Kaulig Companies Championship is one of five major championships on the PGA TOUR Champions schedule and will be contested July 9-12 at Firestone Country Club's famed South Course in Akron, Ohio. Tickets and additional tournament information are available at kauligchampionship.com.
