Kaulig Companies Championship Chip in Fore Charity presented by Fastenal to host BK5K race again this year
The five-kilometer road race/walk offers participants an opportunity to support local youth programs through ‘Chip in Fore Charity’ presented by Fastenal
AKRON, Ohio – On Saturday, June 27, the Chip in Fore Charity program presented by Fastenal will host a BK5K run/walk to help kick off the Kaulig Companies Championship and raise money for local charities.
Named after the late Fastenal Company founder and philanthropist Bob Kierlin, BK5K races are held across the globe to raise proceeds for local youth programs. This year, Silver Creek Metro Park will be one of the premier race stops. Through the Chip in Fore Charity program presented by Fastenal, participants will be able to select which participating charity their registration fees will support.
"We are excited to host the BK5K race again,” said Alexandria Grilliot, Manager of Tournament Sponsorship and the Chip in Fore Charity program presented by Fastenal. “This event brings our community together for a day of fun, exercise and philanthropy with participants deciding which
charity they would like to run/walk for. With the partnership between the Kaulig Companies Championship and Fastenal, we are making a significant impact for local charitable organizations. Last year, the program raised over $1.1M for worthy causes in our area. We look forward to seeing families, walkers and runners come out and contribute to a great cause this Summer!"
Fastenal is the sponsor of the Chip in Fore Charity program. Held in conjunction with the Kaulig Companies Championship, it serves as a fundraising platform through which local 501(c)(3) organizations receive a 10% bonus on charitable contributions.
