2023 Kaulig Companies Championship, July 12-16, 2023

Kelly aims for historic third title in four years

Defending champion Jerry Kelly returns to Firestone Country Club in 2023 after finishing 1st-2nd-1st in the last three Kaulig Companies Championships. With a win at this event, he would become the second player in history to win the Kaulig Companies Championship on three occasions, joining Bernhard Langer (2014, 2015, 2016). Kelly is one of five multi-time winners in the 40-year history of this PGA TOUR Champions event.

Stricker looks to continue torrid pace

Charles Schwab Cup leader Steve Stricker heads to the fourth major of the year in the midst of a historic season on PGA TOUR Champions. In his first 12 starts of 2023, Stricker has four wins (including two majors), along with five runner-up finishes. Stricker won the Kaulig Companies Championship in 2021 before finishing runner-up last year. He owns six senior major titles overall, which ranks him T5 on the PGA TOUR Champions all-time major wins list.

Cink returns to Firestone

Rookie Stewart Cink, who turned 50 on May 21, will tee it up for just the second time on PGA TOUR Champions. Cink finished third in his PGA TOUR Champions debut at the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in May. A past winner at Firestone Country Club, Cink captured the 2004 WGC-NEC Invitational and finished runner-up to Tiger Woods in a four-hole playoff at the same event in 2006. Cink, who won the 2009 Open Championship, owns eight PGA TOUR victories, most recently winning the 2021 RBC Heritage.

Langer’s first start after making history

World Golf Hall of Fame member Bernhard Langer captured his record-setting 46th win on PGA TOUR Champions in his last start, with a two-stroke victory at the U.S. Senior Open. That win broke a tie Langer held with fellow World Golf Hall of Fame member Hale Irwin, who had previously established the PGA TOUR Champions record of 45 wins. Langer, at age 65, holds the top five spots for oldest winners on Champions Tour. He owns 12 senior major titles, including three wins at the Kaulig Companies Championship, both all-time records.
